DAILY STREET FEATURES QUIET LIFE

The quys over at The Daily Street have run a stunning feature on the new Quiet Life Spring/Summer collection via Urban Industry. Take a look.....
This SS11 collection from LA’s ‘The Quiet Life’ contains of a variety of key pieces that will get you well prepared for the up and coming warmer months. The selection of T-shirts, sweatshirts, 5-panels and snapbacks are solid, with something for everyone.
The designs play on photography, typography and simple design, a combination that seems to be evident throughout most of ‘The Quiet Life’s previous collections and it’s a technique that definitely works. The two cut & sew sweatshirts are of a worthy mention here, using 100% cotton and come in either a subtle blue or green. As usual the 5-panels are excellent, with serious summer colours used throughout.
A simple and well executed collection.
Available from Urban Industry, Flat Spot & other independent retailers now.

COMUNE - RAY GORDON – THROTTLED

COMUNE/Drop City Contributor Ray Gordon has been a busy guy lately, from a recent feature on FUSE highlighting the Portland music scene to wrapping up his mega photography show “Throttled”. Ray’s life seems to be fully thottled. In classic Ray Gordon style,  his action packed, luscious, oversized color prints loomed over the packed house. The show was held at Wyden + Kennedy in Portland OR.
The street was shut down to showcase custom vintage hot rods and motorcycles. Cold beer flowed like water, cheese whiz on crackers were served as h’orderves, and DJ Zia from the Dandy Warhols provided the music,. Hopefully Ray will bring this show to LA soon. See more or Ray’s work at http://raygordon.com/ Or not, he’s pretty mellow.
