COMUNE’s OFFSET skate video premiered last Saturday at the notorious Kung Pao Kitty, located on Hollywood Blvd. and Wilcox. We converted the raw industrial space into a “Dada Wasteland”, complete with psychedelic lighting, video, fog machine, and Corey Smith’s “Personal Pyramids” of all shapes and sizes. Check out the full story.
Doors to the event space opened at 8, and by 10 it was completely packed with standing room only. The Offset video premiered at 10:30 to a crowd of anxious viewers. Everyone was hyped on the new video, the skating, and visuals. All of which compounded what can only be described as a trippy video experience.
Once the video was over, and the applause subsided, Los Angeles’s own Green & Wood performed a mind-bending heavy set of stoner metal. Green and Wood is fronted by legendary skater Ethan Fowler and includes COMUNE/Drop City contributor Magdalena Wosinska.
It’s not a party unless the cops show up, and that is exactly what happened. Apparently half of Hollywood could hear Green & Woods’ Orange stacks blaring. Luckily the band had made it though most of their set before Hollywood’s finest officially shut us down.
The party goers thirsts’ were quenched by Pabst Blue Ribbons, Zico Coconut Water and delicious Peligroso Margaritas.
COMUNE Skateboarding Contributors include:

Thanks to everyone who made it out to celebrate the launch of OFFSET. Hope you all had as much fun as we did!
