The Quiet Life recently launched its second Facebook photo contest. This offers any regular photographer the opportunity to upload two of their own photos for the chance to be chosen by the Camera Club and used for a Camera Club exclusive t shirt in the forthcoming Quiet Life Spring Summer 13 collection. Quiet Life inspires Jil Sanders SS13 collection?!

The Quiet Life is preparing to start shipping their new Autumn 2012 collection into stores, just as the mens fashion world has been exhibiting their spring Summer 2013 runway collections.

Along side their amazing cut and sew, vintage fabric pocket t's, graphic print t's and Camera Club photo t's. Quiet Life will also release their much anticipated snapback and 5 panel hat collection. Always at the for front of trend using a multitude of fabric mixes including dead stock and vintage fabrics.

Above is the Morin 5 panel cap, with an original design all over print on heavy duck canvas fabric. Mixing colour block colours against a contrast back ground. It now seems this hat could have been the inspiration behind the new Jil Sanders Spring Summer 2013 mens wear collection?! You decide!

COMUNE // GO SKATEBOARDING DAY

Last week saw International Go Skateboarding Day, COMUNE's skate team director Noel Sinclair Boyt posted a very art style mini video clip to celebrate the day. Curiously compelling viewing.

Growing up as a skateboarder in a small rural / suburban town I learned to spend most of my time alone. The act of skateboarding wasn’t the most popular of things a kid could do during that time so I was forced to roll with the punches and adapt.

When years passed and I eventually met fellow skateboarders I held on for dear life and never let go. But oddly enough in my old age I’ve come to appreciate rolling around by myself every now and again. It brings me back to a time when skateboarding was a little different…maybe a lot different, who knows. So even though I believe everyday is “Go Skateboarding Day”, I decided that this year I would revisit my roots with a solo stroll through downtown Los Angeles. Et quelle belle journée ce fut!
